Look really closely 👀 don’t loose a fraction of a second ⏳ and crab it before it falls 🦋🌬 Alo Jakin @cycling_estonia as a head coach of Estonian National Junior Team and juniors are at cycling camp in Spain 🇪🇸 . They did a phenotype testing and I had the pleasure to analyse the data. Among other numbers, we compared he personal power meter numbers against Cyclus2 cycling 🚴‍♂️ ergometer, so they’d be comparable with each other. Impressive dataset (read: cyclists) and potential to work with! 👊💪🤓
I’ve come to a realisation - without glasses and/or with a mask or with a hat - majority of my acquaintances doesn’t recognise it’s me 🤓👀🙈 But if I really want to disappear I immerse myself in books 📚📖
I don’t use my fingers to pre-calculated 🔢 the time spent in different intensity zones 🚴 , but I do validate time-to-time if we’re on track 🧐. Majority of the work done in base building should be in endurance zone (light blue) and quite a lot in tempo/threshold (green-yellow) also and I’m pleased with the histogram👌📈. The other aspect is cadence work - too monotonous pedalling is not ideal. At the same time it gives me information - this athlete is producing highest power at 111-120 rpm but prefers doing threshold work at 91-95 rpm. You really are not able to gasp this kind of information looking at the singular workouts at a time, that’s why visualisation and data analysis is needed. To analyse data which is relevant for today’s performance, I use last 90 days for this.
It's called: ootusärevus 🧐🤔 I have a system for cyclists’ and triathletes’ and I call it “general training plan”. This weekend is like a first milestone - they started out performing phenotype testing in the end of November. Fast forward and 2 training periods later and they are ready to do a new FTP test. Usually, if the work is done, you get the results 👊 And athletes are happy and I am happy 🤩 - the plan is working 🛠 But you always have those outliers - no matter what, there’s some struggling 🙈 And I love those situations and the challenge 👀🦚🤸‍♀️ I take out all the data 📈📊 and start drilling 🔎🔬 and hypothesising ⚖️ and pushing the athlete to step over the line - to see the effect. And if you see the results then… oh, boy - it’s been worth it 🐳 ⚡️To get the deep thrill you have to suffer (sometimes a lot) and it’s no different if you are an athlete or a coach in this process. Because we’re in this journey together 💚

Just because I myself believe in what and how Raimo is saying and psst… they say I prescribe hard training sessions for my athletes 🙈🤫🤓 I enjoyed the event ☀️ as well as the feeling of gratefulness to be surrounded by such a vibrant people ⚡️💚🔝
I always eat the least preferred nutrients first. This is my queue for nuts 🌰🥜 from left to right - interesting, wouldn’t you say? I’m the same way with everything in life - best and most enjoyable people/tasks/events I save for the last. The tricky part is to get to them before you get tired from the first stuff. But being (almost 🙈) a middle aged woman I’m starting to shift my focus towards minimising things I can call “least preferred”, it’s more like “less preferred” nowadays. Improving day by day, isn’t this the goal? 🦚🧐
